In 2366, Starfleet realized that with the advent of new technologies revolutionizing starship design that the relatively new Galaxy class and other vessels of her era were rapidly becoming outdated and there was only so much they could do to keep pace with the changes.
After significant Designs were tested, only one came out on top. The Sovereign Class and as such the first of the Class began construction. The USS Sovereign’s keel was laid in late 2367 and she would then take 2 years to complete at the Nikoral Shipyards, in the Tellar System. The construction ran largely unimpeded, despite problems with some of the integration of the new systems. This meant that by early 2370, the USS Sovereign was ready for trials with the Fleet.
Soon to follow was the Enterpise-E which became the Flagship of the Federation and highlighted the Versatility of the Class, ranging from Combat Vessel to Deep Space Explorer and the rest they say is history....
The USS Oracle is another Vessel to join the ranks of this versatile class of starship which began with her construction in the latter end of the 2370's. By the start of the next decade her Shakedown Cruise had gone off without fail and she was ready to start her journey. Throughout the 2380's Oracle was instrumental in continuing the relief of Cardassia, her 18 month exploration of the Gamma Quadrant, and in more recent times the Hobus Incident of 2387.
The year is now 2393 and the USS Oracle is ready to etch her name into history and like the previous ships to bare the name Oracle she looks to her future, what lies ahead into the vast unknown and how she plans to define her own destiny.
Her mandate is simple - to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilisations, and to boldly go where no one has gone before.
